Single flowering spike, collected at the cliff edge. Unusually deep purple — almost black at the throat. Left the rest of the stand to seed. Pressed under atlas for three days. Corollas shrank slightly in pressing but held form. A variant preparation using black juice is reported from the eastern villages — see Chapter IV notes for comparison.
